Pats Blog 12th June 2010

12th June, Saturday, alarm went off at 4:50am…..why oh why, it’s Saturday. I volunteer to get breakfast but Sue hops quickly out of bed, I must try harder next time…..

Our daughter is being picked up at 5:30 by a friends father….hooray, a mega hero…and taken into Beverley for a 6am start for a drive up to Edinburgh to the “Frenzy Festival”, the UKs largest Christian Music Festival.

I bob back off to sleep praising God…………

COME ON ENGLAND!!

Blue sky and sunshine means a day in the garden working up an appetite for an Indian takeaway and the match!!!!

Great disappointment, 1-1  draw with the USA, how, why, what happened?

Pats Blog 11th June 2010

11th June, Friday  we received the first drafts for our conference banners which we hope to put up in church, wow they look fantastic, using the same purple as the website and a similar format to our brochure, I am sure they will look stunning.

God has been so good to us in putting us close to people with fantastic gifts who are able to help us in so many different ways. There is no way we would have been able to do this on our own, we have had logos designed by Jannah, brochure and conference banners designed and the printing of them all sorted out for us by Amanda. Fantastic and very patient website designers. Ali is sorting and racking our Pa for us this week. Over the weekend we have had the website checked over grammatically by Christine ( grammar is not one of my strong points as you will probably have gathered.)

The leadership team at BCC have been so helpful and supportive toward us. We have been able to use the chapel here in Brandesburton which is just fantastic………….God has truly gone before us in all things.

Friday evening we have had a truly scrumptious meal at Mike and Janes and a lovely time just chatting over churchy and family type stuff and also trying to get our head around WordPress the editing suite for the website.

Some more important dates from the past few months :

24th May 3 draft choices for brochures arrive by e mail from Amanda. They really are very good indeed which one to choose……?

25th May we decide to incorporate a bit of choices 2 and 3 for  our brochure…things are moving on at a pace now…We also have a bank account with a cheque book with “brandesburton link” in print, wow, it is also getting official!!

2nd June Brandesburton link is now a charity for tax purposes.

Because there is another meeting in the chapel hall we are able to use the chapel for our worship group meeting!!  We have an awesome time of praise and worship, this was not just a practice, it was an encounter with our God through our praise and worship……..I have a wander out onto the main street and the music and singing can be clearly heard outside, fantastic!

Wouldn’t it be great if our midweek worship group meetings become a midweek praise and worship meeting / celebration for all!!!!!

7th June The brochure is ready for printing, we are having 2500 printed which should cover Brandesburton, Leven, Frodingham and Beeford.

Some more dates and happenings over the past few months…………..
Mid April, we settle on the name of Brandesburton link, we think……….
We now have a logo designer from Lincoln new Life and by the beginning of May we have some designs to choose from.
5th May BCC offer us PA equipment. This was going to be a big outlay for us, once again God has answered prayer and is providing PA and a projector. We are so thankful to our Father…………
5th May we purchase the domain name brandesburtonlink.me. My eldest son suggested the .me and it really works, link me to God, link me to the church, link me to the bible etc etc. We are so pleased.
6th May. We have been having a weekly bible study with Mike and Jane, on a Thursday evening, for a few months, looking at worship. This evening more answer to prayer as Mike and Jane tell us they are on board with brandesburton link. Mike will take on the role as our worship leader. Oh yeah, oh yeah oh yeah!!!
We now have a potential membership of…………………..6.
11th May we can now preview the website, we are all very pleased, but it does need quite a bit of work on the content.
13th May we have now completed the logo design phase after much backwards and forwarding of designs and ideas.
14th May the girls go away for the weekend at Wyedale hall with ” Chosen Women” from BCC. It is so good being part of a bigger church and doing some “new stuff”. I am left on my own……….with my daughter. Curry and Doctor Who…..Fantastic!!
19th May a Wednesday evening we have our first worship group meeting in the chapel back room. ( see photographs in the photo gallery). The girls fingers are very sore after not having played since the middle of March, but it was great to get together and praise and worship God where we will be having our meetings.

Pats Blog 9th June 2010

Hi everyone, and welcome to my regular blog….. Well we are nearly ready to launch…..

We have had a roller coaster ride since February but God has been very good to us in all respects and we are just about to start a brand new church………………

Here are a few of the important events which have taken place.

Back in February God gave us a new vision for our work here in Brandesburton……

This was to stop what we were doing at the parish hall as Brandesburton Community Church, link in with a larger church and restart church at a later date here in Brandesburton……………

Wow, quite a big ask…..a lot of prayer and asking God if this was really what He meant followed…….

Gods idea was to take some time out and get refreshed and renewed at the larger church and also to use them as a resource for our work here in Brandesburton. The church God gave us was Beverley Community Church.

23rd February we contact Beverley Community Church for the first time.

25th February, to our absolute amazement, we find out that the vision that God had given us is the same  vision that Beverley Community Church have  been given for the east riding.

16th March, we are given permission to use the Methodist chapel as the  meeting place for our new church.

19th March, after much prayer and heartache we make the decision to join with Beverley Community Church on Sunday 21st March.

21st March for the first time in 12 years we attend a different church as we join with BCC for there morning celebration.

2nd April, Good Friday, we have a walk of witness around Brandesburton carrying a large wooden cross.  We have so much to be thankful for, so much has happened…….but today is a time to focus on Jesus and the pain, agony, humiliation, loneliness, separation He felt as He carried that cross and as He was nailed to it and hoisted high………Jesus died in absolute agony so that I might live…….thank you so much Jesus

4thApril, Easter Sunday. Have you heard, have you heard,  the tomb is empty, Jesus is alive!!!!!

A beautiful morning and I join with BCC and other churches from around Beverley for  an open air meeting at the black Mill on the  westwood at Sunrise. A truly magnificent moment as the sun creeps over the Minster towers as we praise God on this Easter Sunday morning and celebrate that Jesus is no longer in the tomb, but alive!!!! Jesus has conquered death so that we can, I can, live a life free from guilt and shame. Jesus has conquered death so that we can live a life no longer separated from God….all we have to do is ask Him to forgive us and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.

God is truly awesome!!!!                  I just stand in His presence and thank God for everything that has happened in the last couple of months, the doors that have opened for us and the people He has put us alongside……….. Thank you Thank you Lord!!!!

The sunrise has been amazing, it is the start of a glorious day, wall to wall blue sky, Easter Sunday morning, 2010 and to top it off we are going to have a bacon butty and a cup of tea.

Easter Sunday. 7.00pm, our first prayer meeting in the Methodist chapel back room. We have a fantastic time with God, praising and worshipping, what a great way to end the day. We start to put ideas for the new church on a large A1 “flip pad”…

We have officially started our church here in  Brandesburton!!

12th April work begins on the website. We start to kick around ideas for a name and logo.

We continue to meet in the chapel room on Sunday evenings for great times of praise and prayer and also to get our ideas and thoughts and make “to do” lists on our “flip pad”.
