Hi everyone, and welcome to my regular blog….. Well we are nearly ready to launch…..
We have had a roller coaster ride since February but God has been very good to us in all respects and we are just about to start a brand new church………………
Here are a few of the important events which have taken place.
Back in February God gave us a new vision for our work here in Brandesburton……
This was to stop what we were doing at the parish hall as Brandesburton Community Church, link in with a larger church and restart church at a later date here in Brandesburton……………
Wow, quite a big ask…..a lot of prayer and asking God if this was really what He meant followed…….
Gods idea was to take some time out and get refreshed and renewed at the larger church and also to use them as a resource for our work here in Brandesburton. The church God gave us was Beverley Community Church.
23rd February we contact Beverley Community Church for the first time.
25th February, to our absolute amazement, we find out that the vision that God had given us is the same vision that Beverley Community Church have been given for the east riding.
16th March, we are given permission to use the Methodist chapel as the meeting place for our new church.
19th March, after much prayer and heartache we make the decision to join with Beverley Community Church on Sunday 21st March.
21st March for the first time in 12 years we attend a different church as we join with BCC for there morning celebration.
2nd April, Good Friday, we have a walk of witness around Brandesburton carrying a large wooden cross. We have so much to be thankful for, so much has happened…….but today is a time to focus on Jesus and the pain, agony, humiliation, loneliness, separation He felt as He carried that cross and as He was nailed to it and hoisted high………Jesus died in absolute agony so that I might live…….thank you so much Jesus
4thApril, Easter Sunday. Have you heard, have you heard, the tomb is empty, Jesus is alive!!!!!
A beautiful morning and I join with BCC and other churches from around Beverley for an open air meeting at the black Mill on the westwood at Sunrise. A truly magnificent moment as the sun creeps over the Minster towers as we praise God on this Easter Sunday morning and celebrate that Jesus is no longer in the tomb, but alive!!!! Jesus has conquered death so that we can, I can, live a life free from guilt and shame. Jesus has conquered death so that we can live a life no longer separated from God….all we have to do is ask Him to forgive us and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.
God is truly awesome!!!! I just stand in His presence and thank God for everything that has happened in the last couple of months, the doors that have opened for us and the people He has put us alongside……….. Thank you Thank you Lord!!!!
The sunrise has been amazing, it is the start of a glorious day, wall to wall blue sky, Easter Sunday morning, 2010 and to top it off we are going to have a bacon butty and a cup of tea.
Easter Sunday. 7.00pm, our first prayer meeting in the Methodist chapel back room. We have a fantastic time with God, praising and worshipping, what a great way to end the day. We start to put ideas for the new church on a large A1 “flip pad”…
We have officially started our church here in Brandesburton!!
12th April work begins on the website. We start to kick around ideas for a name and logo.
We continue to meet in the chapel room on Sunday evenings for great times of praise and prayer and also to get our ideas and thoughts and make “to do” lists on our “flip pad”.
